Sweethearts dance 2010

Large group of goodlooking, awesome teenagers. Very polite and well mannered crowd, all you moms can be proud.

Ashlie and Nate, Sweethearts dance

This was a really fun week end. Several of the moms/dad and I helped serve dinner to a very large group, I think 13 couples. Lisa donated her house and furnishings; Stephanie arranged for the main dinner (Firehouse pasta, pizza and Olive Garden salad and breadsticks); Debbie and Donna hooked us up with a great desert, homemade fazookies; Stan came and took pictures for us; I did centerpieces with chocolate covered strawberries, white chocolate covered green grapes and blackberries, yum, yum, (Hint: white chocolate dipped blackberries are the bomb, the grapes were great too). Lindsay (Dano's cousin) was the perfect hostess, nice, helpful and very cute! So all in all we had a great time. I will miss doing these kinds of activies with Ashlie. I can't believe she is graduating this year! "Craziness", (is that a word), I guess it is now, I never thought I would be in this place.

Christmas Dance, Ashlie and Tanner

Ashlie and Tanner have been friends since middle school, they even had a crush on each other back in about 7th or 8th grade. I am so glad they were able to go to the dance together. Tanner's mom and dad are friends of mine from childhood. We all grew up together in Wellsville, in fact Sanda and I lived just 2 blocks from each other and use to walk home from church and other activities together. We also worked at Taco Time together.

I'm just not sure how a little 6 lb package of sweetness can overwhelm me with joy! Stella Rose Palmer entered this world on Jan. 26th 2010 at 11:03 weighing in at 6 lb 4 ounces. She was born via emergency c-section in Columbus Ohio. She was breech and when the Dr.s tried to turn her her vital signs bottomed out and they had to do a c-section. From the time they yelled c-section now! to the time she was born it was 10 minutes or less. She was beautiful from the first time I saw her but that was nothing compared to the last several days I have spent in Ohio getting to know this little bundle. It is neat, fun and unforgettable to see my 28 year old son turn to mush over this little package of joy. He said; "mom she is the cuttest little peanut you have ever seen". Now I believe him, after spending time with her giving her her baths, night time feedings and sitting in the dark by candle light (the power went out), I know it is true. Our first adventure was when her mom was running a fever and her dad had to take her to the ER Friday afternoon. It was a snow blizzard and they were gone for 6 hours. It was just getting dark and I was starting to cook dinner for them upon their return from the hospital when the lights went out. I had no idea where matches or a flashlight was. I couldn't reach them because in the ER they were in, there was no cell service. I was using my cell phone for light and began searching all the drawers and cupboards unsuccessfully. Well I then decided to call Taryn's mom who had just stayed with them for several days. She suggested the basement by the washer and dryer. Yes, I did find matches and a flashlight so I was feeling pretty lucky. I was however worried that Ryan and Taryn may get snowed in at the hospital (which was 30 minutes away on a good day). Then I realized that there was only 3 ounces of pumped milk in the fridge and Stella had not eated since 1:30 in the afternoon, it is now 6 at night. She had been asleep most of that time. Well she did start to cry and I knew I had to feed her. So I warmed up the milk and since the power had just gone out, I knew I still had a little hot water. She was such a sweet thing she ate and went right back to sleep. We wrapped up in snuggy warm blankets and sat on the couch by candle light for the next few hours. I prayed and prayed to heavenly father to please let these kids make it home safely as I am not prepared to feed this little baby girl. At one point Ryan left the Er and was able to call me and let me know what was going on. I told him just in case ??? do you have any other formula in the house. We determined there was a small can somewhere that they had recieved at the hospital when she was born, wew was I relieved. So to make a long story short Ryan and Taryn arrived home safely at 9 o clock, with an antibiotic, to treat Taryn's mastitis. Just about 30 minutes before they came home the power came back on and I was able to finish cooking dinner for them. Upon arrival little Stella woke up just in time to help her mother out of un uncomforatable situation as it had been 8 hours since she had last fed Stella. A few days later when we were talking to Scott and Joni via skype, Scott said, "Teresa we didn't anticipate Stella's first camping experience would be with you," (everyone that knows me knows I hate, hate camping). Ha Ha we all laughed, sweet little Stella Rose and Teresa camping all by themselves. I think the angels told Stella just stay asleep for Grandma Teresa so she doesn't panick. Our first little bonding experience and it was a great one. I love this little girl so much, the day before I was to come home I just couldn't hold back the tears when thinking of leaving her. However, she will be coming to visit us the end of March, but I also know she will have changed so much by then. I did make it home safely Feb. 9th, (just barely), and that will be my next story. Traveling and airplanes not a good mixture for Teresa.
