I love hiking with these ladies, we laugh and have a great time. I was happy to actually make this hike. It was 12.75 miles, the elevation was only 1600 feet from start to finish so I was able to do it with my sore knee. This lake is in the Saw Tooth National forest about 1 hour drive away from Sun Valley Idaho. Nancy Bosworth has a condo there and invited us to come for three days of fun and 3 big hikes. I made the first two but by the third day my knee was quit sore so I opted to go Shopping with Lisa and Nancy. Hey hiking, shopping, I don't care if I am with great company.

Jeff and the kids decorated the house and threw me a surprise party for my 50th birthday! I was totally caught off guard. I never saw this coming. After work I went grocery shopping and had no idea so many friends and family were at my house waiting to surprise me. We had lots of food, cake and ice cream. Thanks guys. I have the best husband and family!
Niagara Falls, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

While in Palmyra, we went to Hill Cumorah, One of the sister missionaries took this picture for us in the visitors center. This is my favorite picture of us on the trip.

We had a great trip to Ohio, one of our stops was in Palmyra New York. We went to see where Joseph Smith received his first vision. The Sacred Grove was everything I expected and more. I expected to feel the spirit and enjoy its beauty. The birds and sounds were an extra treat. I did not expect the heat, humidity and mosquitoes. I thought perhaps it would be a little thicker in trees, and brush, but I am glad it wasn't. If it wasn't for the path I am not sure I would have found my way out.

Trip to Ohio

Our first night in Ohio was spent in a hotel, (due to uninvited guests at the Palmer home), so we made the best of it and had a great time. The next morning when we got up Stella was running around in this cute little T-shirt that said big sister. Believe it or not, Joni, (the other grandma) and I never even noticed what it said. So after a little while Taryn said, "do you like Stellas shirt?" We were like yea it is really cute, then we took a closer look and Joni started to scream so I started to scream, it took me a minute to realize what we were screaming about but I eventually caught on. I am going to be a grandma again! They will be 22 months apart. I think it will be great, I said to Ry and T you might as well have another one while you know you have insurance because after you graduate who knows where you will be.

The next night we also stayed in the hotel and took full advantage of the swimming pool, don't worry I won't post pictures. It was so much fun to watch Stella play in the water. I think her diaper weighed more than she did. We also took advantage of the fact that someone else would clean up after we left. For that reason I love to stay in hotels.

Grandpa Palmer and baby Leyla

We have been so blessed to have a new little person join the Palmer family. Leyla was born March 21 st at 7:30 pm weighing in at 6 lbs 14 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. She is a beauty and has lots of black hair. She looks sooooo much like Greg when he was born. She was taken to the NICU shortly after birth, she swallowed Meconium when she was born and since Karly was running a fever they were worried about her. She was grunting a bit after birth and so they felt like for precautionary purposes she need to be started on antibiotics and kept on oxygen. We felt bad everyone couldn't come see and hold her but always better to be safe than sorry. Her blood cultures came back negative and she was released from the NICU about 3 hours before Karly was discharged and so everyone was able to come home together. Grandma and grandpa was able to go over and hold her the day after she came home. It was heaven, what a sweet spirit these little one bring with them. Love ya Leyla.
